Yurok IT Director & EnerTribe CEO were guests on the Jefferson Public Radio’s The Jefferson Exchange

This morning, Yurok IT Director Jessica Engle and EnerTribe CEO Forest James were guests on the Jefferson Public Radio’s The Jefferson Exchange, where they discussed the expansion of the Yurok Connect Broadband system. The Yurok Tribal Council recently directed $2.1 million in Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act funding toward a forward-looking Yurok Connect Broadband Project, which will vastly increase internet speeds and coverage on the reservation. EnerTribe, a Native-owned firm, is partnering with the Tribe on the high-speed internet project. Once it is complete, reservation residents will experience a wide variety of benefits, ranging from reliable access to distance-learning platforms to the ability to participate in e-commerce.

Listen to the interview to learn more about this exciting project.
