SAFETY AND FACILITY MANAGER

 Maintain tribal facilities, plan and oversee work performed by staff and outside contractors; develop safety policies,  procedures and plans for the tribe and present safety programs to tribal employees. Prefer Bachelors Degree in relevant field and at least five years safety/construction experience.  Prefer appropriate licenses or certifications relating to job duties.

TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM MANAGER

Administration of the Yurok Tribal Transportation Program, including program administration, transportation planning, road maintenance, and construction programs, as well as management of all grant and contract funded projects.  Bachelor’s degree, preferably Masters degree,  and at least five years experience in transportation planning, contract management, and program implementation.  Knowledge of Indian Reservation Road (IRR) Programs, Tribal Transit Programs, Federal-Aid Highway Programs, Public Laws 93-638 and other transportation laws and programs.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Manager for the Yurok Economic Development Corporation (YEDC). Establish long-range goals, strategies and plans; secure grants and private funding; and, develop or make recommendations to Board on economic development projects.  Bachelors degree and ten years experience in business, marketing, economic development, community development or closely related field; desire experience in grant writing, small business development, marketing and finance, ecotourism, financial analysis and administration of multi-million dollar government funded projects or corporate businesses.  Applicants must submit a statement not to exceed 3 pages addressing experience relevant to the responsibilities listed, especially management skills, specialized knowledge and technical competence that would indicate successful performance in this management position.

INTERIM ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

The YEDC is also soliciting applications for an Interim Manager on a contractual basis while the search for a Manager is conducted.   It is anticipated that the interim position will be needed for approximately ninety days.  The duties and qualifications are the same as those required for the permanent Manager. 

 

GRANT WRITER

Grant writing activities for the Yurok Tribe, performing research, analysis, grant preparation and monitoring activities in support of the Tribe’s grant funded programs and projects. Bachelor degree from a fully accredited college or university in relevant field plus five years of effective grant writing experience for a tribal organization, public agency, or community based organization.  Knowledge of evaluative methods and techniques, and federal and state funding programs.

The Yurok Tribe is soliciting applications from individuals to clean up the tribe’s Requa Resort.   There are three openings available for one crew leader and two laborers.   The clean up project should last 6 to 8 weeks beginning May 1st (or earlier as hiring is completed).   Work consists of trash and brush clean up, repairing concrete pads and driveway potholes, building gates, fence and signage, painting buildings and benches, and other duties as assigned.  Compensation is $12.14 per hour for the crew leader and $9.63 per hour for the laborers.  TERO preferences apply.  Contact the Human Resources Department to apply before April 22nd

Klamath River Early College of the Redwoods

Teacher:  Full Time/Part Time positions available.  Credentialed in State of California, preference to multiple subjects credential and background with experience in experiential-based, professional learning communities. Teaching positions includes administrative and curriculum development responsibilities.

Klamath River Early College of the Redwoods, an independent public charter school located in Klamath, opened in fall 2005.  A joint project of the Yurok Tribe and College of the Redwoods, KRECR is a member of the national Early College Initiative (www.earlycolleges.org ).   KRECR blends a rigorous high school education with the local Native culture, language, and the first two years of college in a standards-based curriculum model (www.reinventingschools.org). We are seeking colleagues who exhibit a love of life, a love of learning, and a love for the natural environment and who model these characteristics daily.
