Public Water Systems

The Yurok Public Water Systems operate a total of 6 separate systems, serving communities throughout the reservation.  The main goal for YPWS is to provide safe, palatable water to the communities that we serve.  Our two groundwater systems serve the Requa and Terwer (Klamath Glen) areas while our four surface water systems serve the Weitchpec, Kenek, Kepel, and Wautec communities.  YPWS performs monthly bacteria sampling for all six systems, as well as many other EPA mandated tests, to ensure the safety of our drinking water.
