Welcome to Self Governance
Our Mission:
The Mission of the Office of Self-Governance is to protect the sovereign rights of the Yurok Tribe and citizens in relation to other governments, as well as to develop projects that promote this purpose. To ensure proper government to government relationships are developed and sustained, and to encourage the transfer of federal programmatic authorities, functions, and resources to the Tribe. And to promote, advocate, and advance the Tribe’s vision for self-governance and self-determination in a culturally appropriate manner that benefits present and future generations of Yurok citizens.
