Under Under general supervision of the YHHS Director, incumbent is responsible for the supervision and coordination of administrative assistants, department administrative operations, and administrative benefit programs that provide short term assistance to tribal families in need. This is a key leadership management position and requires the knowledge and understanding of Yurok culture, history, and values. This position requires participation and demonstration of engagement and upholding Yurok culture and values as it is essential to the mission of the Yurok Tribe and YHHS Department. Responsible for working collaboratively as a team, trouble shoot and work in challenging confidential situations, and demonstrate a positive solution focused demeanor. Provides management of programs including coordination of client/member disaster/crisis response services, short term client assistance and administrative functions of the
department. Provide management of assistance programs including and not limited to, LIHEAP, CSBG emergency assistance, BIA financial/welfare assistance programs. Oversee, track, and monitor the administrative operations of the department including: budgets, complaint process, grant reports, budget development revisions and monitoring, supervision of administrative support staff, tracking of council action items, lead in contract/MOU development, development
of policies and procedures, facility needs, and monitoring of data and compliance. Incumbent is responsible for training and ensuring staff are able to determine client’s eligibility for financial assistance and keep programs in compliance with Tribal and funding regulations and policies. Incumbent will oversee the coordination of assigned site staff and be assigned to oversee site specific activities. This position will require incumbent to work closely with program managers and staff to ensure all program activities are in accordance with tribal, program and department regulations along with corresponding policies and procedures. Incumbent will conduct needs assessments for the community.
