YUROK TRIBE KLAMATH-AREA OFFICE RECYCLING PROGRAMS

YTEP interns from the Klamath Early College of the Redwoods, Eduah Schwenk and Katie Rolon helped prepare this information page for Tribal employees interested in participating in Tribal recycling programs.

In general, only white paper can be recycled at your desk (in the green bins).  For all other materials, your department can collect them place them in bags, and put them neatly in the recycling shed, located in the parking lot of the main Tribal Office:

YTEP does not recommend the Recycling Shed as a good place to take a break:

BOTTLES AND CANS

The Tribe will recycle glass, aluminum, and #1 and #2 plastic beverage containers.  You may place these containers in the blue bins throughout the offices, or your department can save your containers and recycle them independently and collect the refund.

Please remember to rinse your beverage containers out and remove the lids before recycling!

CARDBOARD RECYCLING – By Eduah Schwenk

Cardboard boxes must be flat if not destroyed.

Package stuffing is a no no.

Cereal card board is no good.

Cardboard should be stored in a secure place so nobody would even think about taking your cardboard.

PRINTER CARTRIDGES

The Tribe participates in a printer cartridge buyback program.  Many printer cartridges we use in the offices are eligible for the program.  To recycle these cartridges, return them to YTEP.  If your department generates many used cartridges each month, YTEP can supply you with a postage prepaid box to keep them in, which you can seal and mail at any time.

Unsure if your cartridge is eligible for the recycling program?

Go to http://www.eccorecycles.com/Buyback_List/buyback_list.shtml to check your printer or copier model number or the product ID of your cartridge.

Any cartridges not on the list can be placed in the trash.

An appreciation for your environment, which may or may not include plastic flowers, is always encouraged.  Thanks for recycling!
